Welcome to Har Shalom ....The Har Shalom Jewish Community began over 50 years ago with small gatherings of friends that came together for the holidays and collectively taught their children what it means to be Jewish. In the early days, there was no rabbi. There were just simple lay services and the opportunity to celebrate with others. Missoula's Har Shalom is still the home of a cozy little Jewish community, although a lot has changed over the years. Har Shalom has affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism and grown substantially, serving many families throughout western Montana. We are in the midst of a major capital campaign to raise the money for a synagogue and an ordained rabbi. In addition to High Holy Day and monthly Shabbat services led by a student rabbi, the congregation offers a Jewish family Sunday school, a Yiddish club, a Rosh Chodesh women’s group, a monthly Jewish music jam, and Hillel, a student group on the campus of the University of Montana.
