Har Shalom believes that a synagogue is an extension of your family, a warm and caring place where you can find spiritual nurturing, education for your entire family, opportunities for social activities or a chance to practice Jewish values.
EDUCATION and SOCIAL ACTION: (open)
We are deeply passionate about caring for our community, and Lida leads the way, finding opportunities for our congregation to support and care for folks in need.
We offer adult classes taught by various congregation members including Hebrew I, Hebrew II, Beginnings of Judaism, and conversion classes.
We also offer Atidaynu, our Jewish Sunday School, meeting every other week through the school year. This program provides a quality education for our children, Kindergarten through 7th grade, in an enriched Jewish environment, and is dedicated to instilling within each student a joyful attitude toward Judaism. Students receive an education in Jewish principles including bible stories, history, holidays, basic Hebrew language, ethics and Israel. In addition, students are guided to prepare for b’nai mitzvah study.
